I have been fascinated with maps for years and when I discovered map art I was hooked! With my month as Queen Bee, I decided to see what the hives take would be on the topic of Old World Maps. It has been a big challenge for everyone and I love what they have created! A few of the members are still working on theirs and they will be added as they become available.
If you would like a chance at winning a 6x6" square of all 11 pieces then leave a comment below or on my blog. Comments will close on January 15th and a winner announced on the 16th!
And then go stop by the other members blogs to see how they created their pieces.
Love these pieces, great inspiration theme too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a creative theme, Lisa! Will be interesting to see how each participant dealt with it.
ReplyDeleteI really like both your theme and what the responses so far have been. I've always been fascinated with old maps (as well as fantasy maps), and enjoy what your hive members have come up with. Can't wait to see the rest of them.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful and innovative designs! Thanks for a chance!

Love this month's challenge... and just visited Lynda's blog. Her Compass stencil idea is great and reminded me of how much the freezer paper technique brings to the table. Used it a lot for applique quit templates and often bring it out for stencils...Thanks to each of you for sharing! Great maps inspired collection!

ReplyDeleteAs a former cartographer, I am drawn to anything that resembles maps, ie, drainage, farm and field patterns, the icon to indicate "North" and I think these fabric samples are really neat.
