The Printed Fabric Bee is in Quilting Arts Magazine!
Lynn Krawczyk, wrote a fabulous article about something every artist has struggled with: Finding Your Artistic Voice. Do you feel that you have found your artist voice? What helped you to find it? Or do you feel like you are still working on it? We would love to hear all about it in the comments section!
congratulations!!
ReplyDeleteI am still looking for my voice, or Brand. I am told by some friends/ artists that they see a connection in my work and know it is mine. Maybe because I fabric dye, and am consistent with some of the colors I use in Dyeing for the projects.
ReplyDeleteHowever, I also like the challenge of using different products, or making my own designs on fabric. I feel each time I work on something I need to stretch a bit, expand my horizons, enjoy the challenges.
I have yet to find a clear voice. I tend to be attracted to too many things to narrow them down or consolidate them or somehow pull them together with the things my brain and my heart want to emphasize. So, I'm basically eclectic -- both in the things I like and the things I make. Maybe that is a voice (or several voices, maybe different languages). Or maybe I have multiple dissociative disorder -- better known as multiple personality. LOL and still searching.
ReplyDeleteP.S. What a beautiful and heart warming group of fabrics -- just what we need on a cold winter's day. I'd love to have them (but I guess that doesn't really need to be said, does it?).
